Chapter 4 – Jesus’ Ministry in Galilee (Part 1)
Story No. 9 of 26 (Mark 1:23-28, Luke 4:33-37)
It was a Sabbath, the Jewish day of worship.
Jesus had just finished teaching in the synagogue at Capernaum when a man with an unclean spirit saw Him. The spirit cried out, “Leave us alone. Have you come to destroy us, Holy one of God”.
Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit saying, “Silence! Come out of him”.
Immediately, the unclean spirit, crying aloud and throwing the man into convulsions, left him.
The amazed onlookers asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He [Jesus] even commands the unclean spirits and they obey him.”.
Today, Jesus wants to be part of our daily joys and troubles, he waits for our invitation!
Jesus will protect us against all evil and unclean spirits.
Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to remain close to you and be forever shielded by the power of your love.
Prayer: Michael The Archangel
Holy Michael the Archangel,
defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust down to hell, satan
and all the wicked spirits
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
|Music Suggestion: Wind Beneath…|
