John the Baptist said of Jesus’ baptism, “I saw the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven, and it remained on him”. (John 1:32)

While John loudly preached a message of repentance, he also told the people that only Jesus could forgive them their sins!
Reflection
Lord Jesus, I repent for ever having offended you, forgive me my sins and help me to remain faithful to your teachings for my remaining days.
