Jesus returned to his hometown of Nazareth to share His Gospel News. However, despite his preaching and miraculous deeds, many Nazarene’s refused to accept his promises and some were even hostile towards him.
Jesus left Nazareth and continued preaching in other towns and areas. (Matthew 13:54-58)
Our own efforts are often not immediately successful. Indeed, there are many times when they seem fruitless but we must not underestimate their possible longer term impact!
Lord Jesus, my understanding and patience are sometimes stretched! Give me the courage to persevere and never seek reward.
There is a Saint in all of us. May we find the grace to unravel our true dream and live it to the full?
Prayer: The Lord is My Shepherd
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in pastures green,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
