Extract
Jesus said of his return to judge the living and the dead, “That day [will] close down upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will overtake all who live on the face of the whole earth. But stay alert at all times, praying that you may have the strength to escape all these things that must happen, and to stand before the Son of Man”. (Luke 21:34-36)
Thought
Jesus was earnestly warning his disciples and all people, against sin. Instead, he was urging us to seek forgiveness, watch and pray.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, instil within me a contrite heart, forgive me my sins and keep me holy.
Prayer: Priests and Religious
St Paul, great convert and Apostle,
guide all priests and religious.
Help them realise that their actions
speak louder than any words.
Teach them to use their talents
to convey God’s message
but, to rely above all,
on the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
