When Jesus was rejected by the people of Nazareth He said to them, “A prophet is not without honour except in his hometown and in his own house”.
Thereafter, Jesus “did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief”. (Matthew 13:57-58)

Interestingly, the perpetrators of violence towards people are frequently family members or friends!
Respect starts in the home and home community!
Reflection
Lord Jesus, open my eyes to my sins. Grant me the courage to try out new ways that will bring me closer to my family and friends. May I forever treat others as I would like to be treated. Amen.
Prayer: The Lord is My Shepherd
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in pastures green,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
