When Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple courts “astonishing” the listeners, they asked, “Child, why have you treated us like this? Look, your father and I have been searching for you anxiously.”
Jesus replied, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:48-49)
Even at the early age of 12yrs, Jesus changed many people’s life-plans. He was entirely focused on his Father’s will.
Lord Jesus, for three days in the Temple you inspired all around you.
Today, grant me the grace to inspire the hearts of all whom I meet. May my actions arouse an everlasting joy within them.
Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to Thy protection,
implored Thy help or sought Thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to Thee O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother;
to Thee I come; before Thee, I stand,
sinful and sorrowful,
O Mother of the word incarnate,
despise not my petitions;
but in Thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
