Healing A Paralytic At The Pool Of Bethesda

Extract

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, he saw a man who had been disabled for many years. He said to him “Do you want to become well? Stand up. Pick up your mat and walk”. Immediately the man was healed, he picked up his mat and started walking. (John 5:8-9).

This was another good-work miracle by Jesus but, it gave others an excuse to persecute him since He was “working on the Sabbath!”

ThoughtsThought

Sadly even today, it is not unusual for people to dislike, target or even kill others for doing good. However, in the end, it’s comforting to know that good always conquers.

ReflectionsReflection

Lord Jesus, in this world of beauty, created by You, may I see only good in everything that I do today and in all whom I meet.

Prayer: Psalm 130

Out of the depths, I cry to you, O Lord,
Lord, hear my voice.
O let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleading.
If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt,
Lord, who would survive?
But with you is found forgiveness;
for this we revere you.
My soul is waiting for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the lord,
more than watchmen for daybreak.
Because with the Lord there is mercy
and fullness of redemption,
Israel indeed he will redeem from all its iniquity.
