The Bible is a collection of many writings making up one BIG story with God at its centre.
The Old Testament, or as the Jews say, the Tanakh, consists of three parts: the Torah or Law of Moses, the Nebi’im or the Prophets and the Kethubim or the Writings. It is a mix of God speaking through the Prophets to us, celebrations (Psalms) and writings, people talking to people (Letters).

May every nation come to know that you alone are God, that Jesus is your child, that we are your people, the sheep that you pasture. Amen.

Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect; we are all equal, created by the same God.
Pray for those who are marginalised and oppressed:
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O Good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds Lord, hide me. Suffer me, not to be separated from you. From the malicious enemy defend me. In the hour of my death call me that I may praise you with the Saints and Angels forever and ever. Amen.

My soul glorifies the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour. He looks on his servant in her lowliness. Henceforth, all ages will call me blessed. The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy is his name. His mercy is from age to age on those who fear him. He puts forth his arm in strength and scatters the proud-hearted. He casts the mighty from their thrones and raises the lowly. He fills the starving with good things, sends the rich away empty. He protects Israel, his servant, remembering his mercy, the mercy promised to our fathers, to Abraham and his sons forever. Amen.

Remember O Most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession and was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly onto you O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petitions but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

Out of the depths, I cry to you O Lord. Lord hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If you O Lord, should mark my iniquities, Lord who shall endure it? With you Lord, there is merciful forgiveness. I wait for you Lord, my soul waits, and I hope. My soul waits for the Lord, more than they who watch for tomorrow. Let Israel hope in the Lord, there is mercy and plentiful redemption with Him. He will redeem Israel from all her iniquities. Amen.
