Jesus’ Life: Chapter 7 – The Kingdom Of Heaven
Jesus wanted the disciples and their followers to remember and understand his Gospel. So, to help, He often presented his messages in the form of memorable images.
Once, He used this example as He warned them about judgment day:
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a net, He said. When cast into the sea it catches all kinds of fish. When it is pulled ashore, the good fish are put into containers and the bad thrown away. So, at the end of time, the same will happen, Angels will separate, “The evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth”.
His warning was direct; remain in a state of readiness, judgment day will come to everyone at an unknown time! (Matthew 13:47-50)
Thought
Growing up to be a “good fish” has its many challenges. However, with Jesus on our side, we can do it together, hand in hand. Thank You, Jesus, for your daily help.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, remove my selfishness and increase my understanding of your teachings. Guide me on my journey to a perfect love for you. Amen.
