Jesus’ Life: Chapter 6 – Jesus’ Ministry In Galilee (Part 2)
Imagine knowing your future!
Before Jesus sent his Apostles out in pairs to preach his Gospel, He told them some of the things to expect in their future life. He said:
- “You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved”.
- “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more they can do.”
Jesus wasn’t offering the Apostles an easy life. No, but to the contrary, he promised that their rewards would be great in heaven.
In the same way, Jesus asks us to listen to his teachings and spend a lifetime getting to know, serve and love Him. At the end, our fear of death, fear of God, will be no more.
Be like a child, proudly speak to others about Jesus. (Matthew 10:26-33, Luke 12:2-9)
Thought
I recently read an internet story titled, “Powerful Ways to Overcome Fear – Right Now”. Among his top ten suggestions the writer said, “I’m not religious, but if you are, you may want to consider praying for guidance on how to start overcoming your specific fear”.
If he only knew God’s power, mercy and love!
Reflection
Lord Jesus, help all Religious to understand that God will not abandon them but, in his kindness, he will care for and carry his very own creation.
Prayer: Solace
May Christ support us all the day long,
till the shadows lengthen,
and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then in his mercy
may he give us a safe lodging,
and holy rest
and peace at the last. Amen.
