When Philip said to Jesus, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be content.” Jesus replied, “Have I been with you for so long, and you have not known me, Philip? The person who has seen me has seen the Father!” (John 14:8-9)
Thought
Philip walked and talked with Jesus throughout his ministry. Therefore, he walked and talked with God the Father. We can also get closer to God the Father by discovering more about the life of Jesus on earth and praying to Him daily.
Jesus is our unique picture of God.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, guide me in my wayward actions.
Warmly embrace my many daily efforts to get to know you better.
Instill in me the splendour of Your loving Father in Heaven.
A Prayer – All Needs
We beg you, Lord,
to help and defend us.
Deliver the oppressed.
Pity the insignificant.
Raise the fallen.
Show yourself to the needy.
Heal the sick.
Bring back those of your people who have gone astray.
Feed the hungry.
Lift up the weak.
Take off the prisoner’s chains.
May every nation come to know that you alone are God,
that Jesus is your child,
that we are your people,
the sheep that you pasture. Amen.
