Over time, ever-increasing numbers of people accepted Jesus and lived by his teaching. Some however didn’t, among them Jewish Leaders.
The Jewish Leaders called a meeting to discuss their response to His teaching and work saying, “What are we doing? For this man is performing many miraculous signs. If we allow him to go on in this way, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away our sanctuary and our nation”. (John 11:47-48)
Thought
The Jewish Leaders thoughts were very personally focused, their status and way of life were under threat!
How very difficult change can be for many to accept!
Reflection
Lord Jesus, open my mind and heart to your ways; help me to see and accept the change necessary to fully comply with your teachings.
Prayer: The Sick
Father, your Son accepted our sufferings,
teaching us the virtue of patience in human illness.
Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters.
May all who suffer pain, illness or disease
realise that they are chosen to be Saints,
and know that they are joined to Christ in his suffering
for the salvation of the world.
