Prayer is Love, I want to Love

Parable of the Tenants (1)

Extract

Silhouette of Jesus carrying the Cross

Jesus told the famous Parable of the Landlord and his Tenants. In it, all of the slaves were beaten or killed when the Landlord sent them to the Tenant Farmers to collect the harvest they owed.

Finally, “He had one left, his one dear son. He sent him to them, saying, They will respect my son”. (Mark 12:6)

They didn’t, they tortured, crucified and killed him.

Thought

Of course, the “Dear Son” in the Parable symbolised Jesus while the tenant farmers represented our hands and our sins.

Jesus is still being rejected today. But our prayers make a difference. Pray for Christian unity, non-believers, the doubtful, your family and yourself.

Reflection

Lord Jesus, by your death, resurrection and ascension, you opened the path for me to eternal life. Lord, I pray from the comfort of your presence, that all who hear your call today will respond and follow.

Prayer: Most Holy Mary (St John Bosco)

Most Holy Virgin Mary, Help of Christians,
how sweet it is to come to your feet
imploring your perpetual help.
If earthly mothers cease not to remember their children,
how can you, the most loving of all mothers forget me?
Grant then to me, I implore you,
your perpetual help in all my necessities,
in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations.
I ask for your unceasing help for all who are now suffering.
Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners.
Grant through your intercessions
many vocations to the religious life.
Obtain for us, O Mary, Help of Christians,
that having invoked you on earth
we may love and eternally thank you in heaven.
