When Jesus heard that the disciples had been discussing among themselves who was the greatest, he gathered them together and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all”.
Then taking a child in his arms he said, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me”. (Mark 9:35-37)
Thought
When did I last welcome a stranger in the same way that I welcome innocent children?
Reflection
Lord Jesus, lead me today to someone who needs a warm welcome and honest guidance.
Prayer: Come Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful,
and kindle in them the fire of Your Divine Love.
Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created,
and You shall renew the face of the earth.
Oh God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit
instructed the hearts of the faithful.
Grant, that by the same Spirit we may be truly wise and
ever rejoice in His consolation.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
