St John the Apostle described John the Baptist as, “A witness to testify about the light so that everyone might believe through him. He himself was not the light, but he came to testify about the light”. (John 1:7-8)
Thought
If we wish, we can also be like John the Baptist, witnesses to, “Jesus, the Light of the World;” just show it in our words and actions.

Reflection
Lord Jesus, you are my light, a light that removes all darkness. Hear my prayer; remove the barriers which prevent your light from illuminating my heart.
Prayer: The Sick
Father, your Son accepted our sufferings,
teaching us the virtue of patience in human illness.
Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters.
May all who suffer pain, illness or disease
realise that they are chosen to be Saints,
and know that they are joined to Christ
in his suffering for the salvation of the world.
