Jesus described the Kingdom of Heaven as being like, “A net that was cast into the sea that caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, they pulled it ashore, sat down, and put the good fish into containers and threw the bad away”. (Matthew 13:47-48)
A drag-net gathers everything, “good and evil”; God will separate the “good from the evil”.
The net also represents the Word of God to which not everyone listens.
Lord Jesus, may my work and prayers today, be filled with guidance and compassion for others. For this grace, I thank you, Jesus.
Prayer: The Sick
Father, your Son accepted our sufferings,
teaching us the virtue of patience in human illness.
Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brothers and sisters.
May all who suffer pain, illness or disease
realise that they are chosen to be Saints,
and know that they are joined to Christ
in his suffering for the salvation of the world.
