Jesus said, “My commandment is this – to love one another just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this – that one lays down his life for his friends”. (John 15:12-13)
Thank you to those who gave me my first experience of love: my parents and carers, my brothers, sisters, friends … and to You, Jesus; You laid down your life for me.
Lord Jesus, teach me how to love you,
in both good times and bad.
Enkindle in my heart the fire of your perfect love
and the virtues of your adorable infancy, purity, simplicity, obedience and humility.
Prayer: Be at Peace (St Francis de Sales
Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life;
rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise,
God, whose very own you are,
will lead you safely through all things;
and when you cannot stand it,
God will carry you in His arms.
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow;
the same understanding Father who cares for you today
will take care of you then and every day.
He will either shield you from suffering
or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace,
and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.
