Extract
Jesus, while on his way to the town of Nain, met a crowd carrying the dead body of a widow’s only son.
Jesus, taking pity on her, said, “Do not weep”. He then approached the bier upon which his body lay, touched it and said, “Young man, I say to you, get up”. Immediately the dead man sat up and started talking. (Luke 7:13-14)
Thought
We are told that as Jesus returned the young man to his mother, “Fear seized them all,” and they began glorifying God.
One day, God will also raise us from the dead as Jesus promised, and we will glorify Him for all eternity.
Reflection
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to people of goodwill. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you.
Prayer: The Lord is My Shepherd
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in pastures green,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Amen.
