Prayer is Love, I want to Love

Jesus’ Call To Repent

Extract

Quote: Apology - "A true apology..."

Jesus, referring to a group of people who were killed by a falling tower, said, “Do you think they were worse offenders than all the others who live in Jerusalem? No, I tell you! But unless you repent you will all perish as well!” (Luke 13:4-5)

Thought

Jesus loved the people of Jerusalem very much and he wanted them to follow his teachings. Sadly, many refused to do so!

Recognising our failures and repenting for past indiscretions is part of personal growth; a sign of strength and closeness to Jesus.

Reflection

Lord Jesus, you are good and forgiving, full of love and compassion. As I now present my failings and needs before your mercy, grant me your saving peace.

Prayer: Trust In Jesus (St Ignatius of Loyola)

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
