Jesus said to his disciples, “The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes sin as well as all lawbreakers. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth”. (Matthew 13:41-42)
Sometimes people don’t believe what they are being told because they are unable to imagine what the scene looks like. That doesn’t mean God’s Judgement Day won’t happen.
Lord Jesus, enlighten our minds and heart so that we will see and believe.
(“I believe though I do not comprehend, and I hold by faith what I cannot grasp with the mind.” – St Bernard)
Prayer: Abandonment (Charles de Foucauld)
Father, I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you;
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me.
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands without reserve
and with boundless confidence, for you are my Father.
